Clark Atlanta University (CAU) will celebrate its 2013 Founders Day with an address by renowned educator, CAU trustee and alumna Delores Aldridge on Thursday. She will speak at 10:45 a.m. in the Vivian Henderson Center’s Leonidas Epps Gymnasium, which is at the corner of Vine Street and Atlanta Student Movement Boulevard (formerly Fair Street). “Celebrating Our Legacy: A Past to Cherish; A Future to Fulfill” is the theme for Founders Day and the kick-off for celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the university. In 1988, CAU was formed from the consolidation of two prestigious and historic institutions, Atlanta University, the nation’s first African-American graduate school, and Clark College, the nation’s first private, liberal arts college for African Americans.
