The holidays are upon us, so there's nothing but time and opportunity to eat, drink and be merry this week in Atlanta.
With kids out for the holiday break and grown-up holiday breaks beginning, the week has a little something for Atlantans of all ages.

Scout, a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant and bar, officially opens Wednesday after several soft opening events. The new Oakhurst eatery is headed by longtime Atlanta restaurateur Chris Martha.

Christmas-themed marvels abound in this extravaganza of acrobats, jugglers, contortionists, strong men and high flying aerialists on (and above) the stage. Music by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell performing holiday hits round out the performance. Definitely worth leaving work early Wednesday to catch the matinee.

Now through Christmas, the aquarium will be transformed into a winter wonderland with a sparkling lights show every hour along with performances throughout the day by mermaids. Other highlights include an underwater menorah in the Ocean Voyager habitat that is visible in the largest gallery window viewing area — the Ocean Voyager Theater. Another is the “Symphony of Snow” featuring a magic trick with snow blown into the atrium followed by Santa arriving on a sleigh. Most of the holiday extras are included with ticket price.

The legendary Collective Soul frontman will gather with some of his musician friends — including those Collective Soul bandmates — for a series of charity concerts. The concert on Monday will benefit the TJ Martell Foundation, while Tuesday’s will benefit Pets for Vets and Wednesday’s will support the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper Wednesday.
Roland has requested that fans bring packages of socks (the type doesn’t matter) to donate to the homeless.
