Child care in Georgia is getting a boost from a new program to spread expertise through a network of well-seasoned caregivers. Officials with Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning’s Georgia Program for Infant/Toddler Care (GPITC) are paring up with their counterparts in South Carolina to develop a team of mentors who can share their experience with other child care professionals. Participants are attending 44 hours of classroom training geared toward helping them be effective mentors to other infant/toddler teachers. Both states offer free online expert advice forums for parents and caregivers. More info: (770) 359-5224 or http://gapitc.org/.
