A Marietta man who was shot in May died Saturday, and the man accused of shooting him now faces a murder charge.

Trinity Hardnett, 35, was wounded after an argument that started at a nearby convenience store led to a shooting at the Edinborough Apartments in Marietta on May 21, authorities said. He was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. He died Saturday from injuries sustained in the incident, according to a news release Monday from Cobb County police.

Laronte Jamal Nelms, 22, of Smyrna, was arrested May 27 on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery. He has remained in jail and now faces an upgraded charge of murder, according to the release.
