No serious injuries were reported Friday afternoon when a car backed into the Kroger store on Howell Mill Road, according to police.

The driver, whose name was not released, may have had a medical emergency as he or she backed up and struck a pillar at the store, Officer John Chafee with Atlanta police said. A passenger in the car reported back pain, Chafee said.

The store did not appear to have major structural damage, police said.
