A California woman was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of embezzling more than $138,500 from youth baseball teams and an elementary school parent-teacher organization, KTXL reported.
Jennifer Haymart, 39, was charged with embezzlement, grand theft, forgery and unlawful use of personal identifying information, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said. She is being held at the Sacramento County Jail on $125,000 bail, KCRA reported.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, Haymart made unauthorized withdrawals and wrote unauthorized checks in her position as treasurer for Deterding Elementary School's Parent Teacher Organization in Carmichael, California, KTXL reported. She also made unauthorized withdrawals from the Carmichael Little League, the television station reported.
Between November 2015 and October 2017, Haymart, as treasurer, withdrew money from the parent-teacher organization's bank account and wrote herself checks totaling more than $85,372, KCRA reported.
Haymart is also accused of taking $52,757 from the Carmichael Little League between July 2016 and November 2017, the Sheriff's Office said. She allegedly forged bank statements when the Little League's president requested them, KTXL reported.
