Burglars hit Clayton County middle school, target LED projectors
Authorities are investigating an overnight break-in at a Clayton County middle school by thieves targeting a specific piece of high-tech equipment.
The burglars, who shattered double-pane windows to get into Adamson Middle School on Rex Road, took eight LED overhead projectors valued at nearly $10,000, according to Channel 2 Action News.
The thieves apparently only ripped the projectors from the ceilings of classrooms, and left behind other equipment such as computers and DVD players, the station reported
“We pride ourselves in being technology friendly and trying to expose our kids to the latest and greatest in tech and when somebody comes in and removes this, it impedes what we’re trying to promote here,” Clayton County School Police Chief Clarence Cox told Channel 2. “Apparently somebody decided they needed these things a lot more than our kids and that’s not how we feel.”
