He walks into stores and restaurants, casually points a handgun at employees, and then demands cash be placed in a plastic bag. And Atlanta police believe he’s done it at least 10 times, targeting the Buckhead area.

Now police are hoping someone can identify the man dubbed the “Buckhead bandit,” Officer John Chafee said Tuesday night.

A New Year’s Day robbery happened at a CVS on Peachtree Street, but most of other robberies have taken place at drugstores and a sandwich shop on Peachtree Road in Buckhead, police said. The suspect is also believed to have hit two businesses in the Brookhaven area.

“Put it all in the bag,” the suspect told a cashier on Jan. 8 at a CVS, according to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Then on Jan. 18, the suspect entered a Subway restaurant and demanded cash, even taking the time to take a phone call before leaving with cash, surveillance video shows.

Investigators hope videos of the suspect, posted on YouTube, will help identify the suspect.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to contact Atlanta police commercial robbery investigators at 404-546-4255 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
