A busy Buckhead intersection reopened Tuesday evening after it was shut down for four hours as Atlanta police investigated a “suspicious package.”

The package was located near the intersection of Lenox and East Paces Ferry roads, police spokeswoman Officer TaSheena Brown said in an email. Both Lenox and Kingsboro roads were shut down around 5:30 p.m. and reopened at 9:30 p.m.

K-9 units were on scene to take part in the investigation. Police later found out the package contained trash, Sgt. John Chafee said Wednesday morning.

The busy section of Lenox Road runs directly next to MARTA’s Lenox transit station and the J.W. Marriott Atlanta Buckhead hotel.
