Police have cleared the scene of a shooting Tuesday afternoon near the William Oliver Building in downtown Atlanta, but they are continuing to search for a suspect.

The man suspected of shooting another person after a dispute fled the scene at 32 Peachtree Street Northwest in a white Ford pickup truck, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant said.

Officers responded to the shooting around 1:30 p.m. and found one victim with a gunshot wound, Grant said. He was alert and taken to a hospital. Police did not share information about the severity of the man’s injuries.

About an hour after the shooting, the Georgia State University Police Department tweeted that Atlanta police were continuing to investigate at the scene. Police did not provide further updates

The historic art-deco condo tower at the center of the shooting investigation was built as an office building in the 1930s and converted to residences for the 1996 Olympics, according to the building’s website. It overlooks Woodruff Park and the famous Five Points intersection, a bustling section of downtown Atlanta near GSU.
