A busy road was shut down for hours as Duluth police investigated whether an explosive device was inside a car Friday evening, according to the agency’s Twitter account.

Officers shut down Pleasant Hill Road, which is between Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and McClure Bridge Road, around 6:25 p.m.

Duluth police announced that they have reopened the road at 8:45 p.m. since explosives weren’t found.
