A 65-year-old pedestrian died Thursday morning after being hit by two vehicles while walking on a major Cherokee County road.

The man, identified as Sebastian Martinez of Acworth, was walking on Ga.  92 near Woodland Drive about 5 a.m., Cherokee sheriff’s office spokesman Capt. Jay Baker said.

At some point, two cars heading east on Ga. 92 hit Martinez, Baker said. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he died.

Investigators said he was wearing dark clothes at the time of the wreck and was not in a crosswalk. Both drivers stayed at the scene of the crash until investigators arrived.

All but one left lane of Ga. 92 was closed while first responders worked to clear the scene. The road reopened about 6:15 a.m.
