A 10-year-old boy died following a weekend crash in Monroe County that sent two other children to the hospital, officials said.

The single-vehicle wreck happened about 7 p.m. Sunday on Ga. 19 near Lorraine Woods Drive in Forsyth, according to Monroe sheriff’s spokeswoman Anna Lewis.

Investigators said the car left the roadway and hit a tree. Deputies on the scene pulled four people from the vehicle, Lewis said.

Jamarrien Brown, 10, of Forsyth, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver, 33-year-old Michael Deandre Brown of Macon, had minor injuries. A 5-month-old girl and an 8-year-old girl were taken to Navicent Health in Macon for observation, Lewis said. Their conditions were not released Monday.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
