Georgia State Patrol troopers are investigating a wreck involving a tractor-trailer and three pickup trucks that killed a 67-year-old woman in Douglas County on Friday.
Just before 1 p.m., four vehicles were traveling south on Thornton Road in the left lane, the GSP said in a news release. The vehicles included a Chevrolet Silverado, a Chevrolet Avalanche, a GMC Sierra and a tractor-trailer.
The Silverado, driven by Doris Hart of Powder Springs, was behind the other vehicles as they approached the road’s intersection with Veterans Memorial Parkway, the release said.
The Silverado traveled into the center turn lane, sideswiping the Avalanche and striking the rear of the tractor-trailer, according to troopers. The impact caused the tractor-trailer to rear-end the Sierra.
Hart was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other three drivers were not injured, the release said.
No other information was provided.
