A 26-year-old man that has already spent more than six years in state prison has been arrested and charged in a January shooting death in southeast Atlanta, police said Thursday.
U.S. Marshals located Sydney Terrell Clark in Lithonia, where he was arrested and charged with murder, Officer John Chafee with Atlanta police said.
Clark, of Riverdale, is accused of shooting and killing Fikree Jordan on Jan. 8 on Farrington Place, near Tuskegee Avenue, Chafee said. Jordan, 37, of Atlanta, was found dead in the middle of the road, police previously said. Jordan had been shot multiple times and his green Chevrolet pickup truck was missing, according to a police report.
Investigators later obtained an arrest warrant for Clark on murder and armed robbery charges, Chafee said.
Clark is a twice-convicted felon who has spent most of his adult life in prison, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. He was imprisoned from June 2005 until January 2011 and again from December 2011 until January 2013, records show. Clark has previously been convicted on aggravated assault, robbery, terroristic threats and drug charges.
