A motorist was injured when the pickup truck he was driving slammed into a house near Stone Mountain before daybreak Tuesday.

The incident happened before 5:30 a.m. on Vineyard Court, in a neighborhood off Hambrick Road.

The accident damaged the masonry and left a wall of the brick home's garage bowed.

Moses Dantzler, who works for South DeKalb Towing, arrived a short time later to extricate the truck.

"It's not so common to pull them out of a house, but I have seen it before," Dantzler told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, adding that his company gets similar calls about every couple of weeks.

"From here, it looks easy," Dantzler said as he stood outside the damaged garage. "I don't know what all they have going on inside."

DeKalb County police on the scene said the driver of the pickup was taken to a local hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
