Tom Owens, a candidate for the DeKalb County Commission, figured he could dodge a pesky journalist’s questions by getting a protective order against the scribe.

A judge figured the First Amendment said, “When Hades freezes over” to that sort of foolishness.

But before she made her ruling, things in the courtroom got just about as strange as you might imagine.
