The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was called to assist Lawrenceville police with a standoff this afternoon. But when officers made their way into the extended-stay hotel room, the suspect was gone, according to police.

Police were attempting to serve a warrant at an extended-stay hotel at 474 Pike Street when a man matching the suspect’s description barricaded himself inside, Capt. Greg Vaughn with Lawrenceville police said.

The suspect, whose name was not released, has warrants for his arrest in two jurisdictions, Vaughn said.
