A domestic dispute led to a stabbing, which led to a SWAT standoff Saturday morning in northeast Atlanta.

Police arrested Robert Hayes, who locked himself in an apartment in the 400 block of Lindbergh Place, according to police spokesman Gregory Lyon.

“The perpetrator is in custody. No shots fired,” Lyon said. “I was told that SWAT deployed tear gas. Medics are checking the suspect out now.”

Roommate David Ker told police that Hayes stabbed him. Ker was in stable condition suffering from a stab wound to the chest, police said.

“This stabbing appears to have resulted from a domestic dispute,” Lyon said.

Hayes is charged with aggravated assault.
