Less than four hours after he escaped, an inmate was back in custody in Middle Georgia on Wednesday.

Danny Ray Bennett, 25, was captured on Caldwell Road in Butts County at 5:19 p.m. by a K-9 unit, according to a tweet by the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Jail records indicate Bennett is serving a five-year sentence at the Burruss Correctional Training Center in Monroe County for a burglary. He escaped during a work detail in Butts County.

At the time of escape, Bennett was not even a year into his sentence. He will face disciplinary charges as a result of his escape, Georgia Department of Corrections spokeswoman Joan Heath told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
