An Athens teen is being investigated for felony animal cruelty after she allegedly killed a dog by throwing it against a wall early Sunday, according to a news report.

Onlineathens.com is reporting that the unidentified teen’s older sister made the gruesome allegation to Athens-Clarke police. According to the report, the woman called police around 11:15 a.m. on Sunday to report that her 17-year-old was missing, then mentioned that the teen had killed a dog, according to the report.

The 33-year-old woman told police she and her sister were sitting on the porch at home just after midnight when one of their small dogs began to bark. The barking upset the sister.

The teen reportedly told her sister, “I’m going to throw the dog in the bedroom,” said police, adding, “no one thought that she meant (that) literally, and she threw the dog against a cement wall and the dog died several hours later.”
