The morning commute was dry, but rain should dampen this afternoon's drive home. Here's what you need to know as showers move into metro Atlanta:

Rain likely this afternoon: Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said there is a 60 percent chance of rain this afternoon, along with highs in the mid-70s. Rainfall should be light, with totals under a half-inch.

A little thunder possible, too: The National Weather Service is expecting a few strong thunderstorms to develop, but severe weather is not anticipated.

Sunny midweek: Sunny skies are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the mid-70s Wednesday and upper 70s Thursday, and morning lows in the low 50s.

Rain chance goes up for the weekend: Minton is forecasting a 30 percent chance of rain Friday, decreasing to 20 percent Saturday. Highs will be in the low 80s both days, with lows in the low 60s.

Rain should ease pollen a bit: This morning's pollen count was 1,310 particles per cubic meter of air, up from 976 on Monday.
