Police check out ‘suspicious package’ on Peachtree Street

Police investigating reports of a suspicious package on Peachtree Street, south of the Peachtree Hills community in Buckhead on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the package was discovered in a nearby dumpster.

A section of Peachtree Street near the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center was closed while a SWAT team checked out the package.

The SWAT team deactivated their investigation about 3 p.m. Police did not say what the item was that prompted the investigation.
