One person is dead and another is critically injured after a car overturned on Interstate-20 in Douglas County late Sunday afternoon.
Douglas County Coroner Randy Daniels told Channel 2 Action News that a Dodge Durango overturned on I-20 eastbound between Lee Road and Countyline Road.
Seven people were injured, in addition to the person who died. The critically injured person has been flown to Grady Memorial Hospital. Four other people with injuries were also taken to the downtown Atlanta hospital. Two additional patients were taken to Children’s Hospital of Atlanta at Egleston.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured, Daniels said.
Names of those involved and details of the accident were not immediately available.
