Prison officials are investigating a possible homicide of a South Georgia inmate.

Investigators suspect Marquis Walker's death at Ware State Prison occurred as the result of injuries from a fight with another inmate, according to a news release from the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Walker was taken to a local hospital in Ware County, where he died Thursday morning, officials said.

According to the GDC, Walker is the fourth Georgia inmate found dead in the past week. The other three are being investigated as apparent suicides.
