A man delivering newspapers was killed in a single-vehicle wreck early Thursday in Walton County, according to police.

Investigators believe William Carlton Jones, 52, of Auburn, lost control of his Ford Windstar van on Ga. 10 around 3:50 a.m., according to the Georgia State Patrol. Jones then ran off the road, struck a tree and overturned, police said.

Jones, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene of the wreck, the GSP said. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been involved.

At the time of the wreck, Jones was delivering The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and was employed by one of the newspaper's contractors.
