Coweta County authorities said a Newnan High School paraprofessional was killed when her brother stabbed her multiple times.

Amber Caldwell, 23, died after the incident, according to Coweta County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jae Robertson. Her brother, McNeil Caldwell, 21, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with her death.

The fatal stabbing happened Feb. 6 at Caldwell’s home on Brooke Court in Newnan, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

The details of what led to the incident are not clear, and the sheriff’s office did not release a motive.

McNeil Caldwell was booked into the Coweta jail Feb. 7, where he remains with no bond.

Amber Caldwell was previously listed as a paraprofessional at Newnan High School, but her name has since been removed from the school’s online directory.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at the Greater Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
