A man was shot and killed Thursday in broad daylight outside a home in Jonesboro, Clayton County police said.

Neighbors heard shots fired about noon Thursday and told police they saw a man dragging the victim’s body into a home on Susan Lane, police spokeswoman Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said.

“We do have a suspect in custody and do not believe that this is a random act of violence,” Marbury said.

Authorities told Channel 2 Action News the man walked inside the home once they arrived then casually walked out.

Neighbor say they saw someone commit a murder and drag the body into a home in broad daylight.

“I can only say he was coming out of the door and he was nonchalantly walking away from this location,” Clayton County police Chief Michael Register said.

Police obtained a search warrant and are still investigating, she said. The suspect and victim have not been identified.
