A motorcyclist died in Gwinnett County after he was thrown into the path of another car after a collision, police said.

Miguel Maldonado-Lemus, 70, of Lilburn  was killed after a car hit him and tossed him into oncoming traffic, authorities said.

The wreck happened about 1 a.m. on Singleton Road near Thompson Parkway in unincorporated Norcross, according to police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera.

Maldonado-Lemus was trying to make a right turn onto Singleton Road from a private drive, she said. He turned in front of a Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound, and his motorcycle collided with the car, Pihera said.

Maldonado-Lemus landed in the westbound lanes, Pihera said. As he lay in the roadway, a Nissan Sentra hit him.

Both drivers remained on the scene. There were no other injuries.
