Gwinnett County police are looking for a man they say entered a church near Norcross in search of something other than a sermon.

The man, whose identity is not yet known, broke into New Church of Atlanta on Amwiler Road and stole electronics, Gwinnett police said in a news release. Authorities released surveillance photos of the suspect Wednesday.

Church officials reported the burglary March 18, according to Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera.

The assistant pastor told police the suspect also damaged equipment in the congregation area before leaving through the front door, Pihera said.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to contact Gwinnett police. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
