A motorcyclist was killed when he was thrown from the vehicle after a wreck, Atlanta police said.

The man was riding on I-20 westbound near the Flat Shoals Road exit about 7:40 p.m. Saturday, according to police spokesman Officer James White.

When the motorcycle hit another vehicle, the man was thrown from the bike, police said. He was taken to a hospital, but did not survive his injuries, White said. The other driver remained at the scene.

Officials blocked off I-20 near Gresham Road for hours while investigating the crash. The roadway was reopened just before 11 p.m.

In other news:

Police said two men got into a fight and one pulled out a gun and started shooting. The other man returned fire. The woman was shot in the crossfire.
