A Cobb County man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a man at a party, Marietta police said today.

Blaylan Christopher Phillips, 20, of Marietta, is accused of killing 19-year-old Christopher Wilson at a party early Wednesday, Officer David Baldwin said.

Three people were struck when shots were fired at the Dwell @ 750 complex on Franklin Road, where at least 60 people attended a party, according to police. Address records show Phillips lives in the complex.

“According to witnesses, a group of approximately 4 to 5 unwanted guests arrived on scene and started an altercation with some of the partygoers,” Baldwin previously said. “One of the unwanted guests pulled out a gun and started shooting into the crowd.”

Wilson died after being transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, police previously said. Both Chauncey Martin, 19, and Malik Phillips, 18, were wounded, but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Malik Phillips is not related to the alleged gunman.

Blaylan Phillips was arrested early Saturday at his apartment and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault, Cobb County jail records show. Today, he remained in jail, where he was being held without bond.
