Two kayakers were rescued Saturday after they were stranded on Tybee Island, according to the United States Coast Guard.

The kayakers camped overnight on Tybee Island and became stranded due to bad weather, the coast guard said in a news release.

Officials with the coast guard’s Charleston, South Carolina sector were notified of the kayakers about 4:25 p.m. Less than two hours later, a helicopter crew landed on Tybee Island and found the pair. They were taken to Hunter Army Airport.

No injuries were reported, according to the coast guard.
