A housekeeper was arrested months after she stole a hotel guest’s ring from his room, according to Alpharetta police.

Kristshonda Brooks is charged with felony theft by taking after allegedly stealing the ring from a room at the Hyatt Place on North Point Parkway, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The $950 wedding band was reported stolen Aug. 8, according to an incident report obtained by AJC.com.

The hotel guest said he had last seen it sitting on a table by the sofa in the hotel room. Later, the ring disappeared.

“The ring stolen from the room was a 40th anniversary ring,” Alpharetta police spokesman Sgt. Howard Miller told Channel 2.

The guest said cleaning supplies had been left in the room, the incident report said. Police spoke to hotel employees, but a manager said no one admitted to stealing the ring.

“During the investigation we determined there were two hotel employees who had access to the couple’s room during their stay,” Miller said.

According to Channel 2, Brooks admitted stealing the ring to police. She also told investigators she stole money from guests’ rooms in separate incidents, Channel 2 reported.

Miller said Brooks was fired from the hotel.

She was booked into the Fulton County jail Jan. 6 and released later that day on a $3,000 bond.
