A 14-year-old was taken to the hospital after he was shot in the rib, Atlanta police spokesman Lukasz Sajdak said.

Hassan Holley was shot about 6 p.m. Wednesday on Fairburn Road in northwest Atlanta, Sajdak said. He was listed in stable condition.

According to Channel 2 Action News, the victim was on his way back from running an errand when he was shot.

Atlanta police roped off three homes to search for clues that could lead to a possible shooter, Channel 2 reported. Witnesses say a man was seen leaving the scene.

Officers found clothes and other evidence at the scene, according to Channel 2. The victim’s grandmother Emma Pullins told the news station he had been bullied at school.

“He didn't go messing around or getting into any trouble,” she said. “He always stayed at home and went to school.”

No other details were released.
