Atlanta police are trying to find a driver who hit and killed a woman while she was walking on Ga. 400 and then drove off.

Rasheeda Covington died after she was hit Sept. 21, according to an incident report obtained by AJC.com.

The fatal wreck happened about 1:20 a.m. near Lenox Road, the report said. Investigators said Covington was walking in the far right lane of Ga. 400 when she was hit, and the driver did not stay at the scene.

Car parts were recovered from the site of the crash, the report said. They are believed to belong to a gold 2003-2007 model Honda Accord, investigators said.

The windshield of the vehicle likely has moderate to extensive damage, officials said.

An investigation is ongoing.
