An apartment fire caused by lightning in Gwinnett County Tuesday has displaced 23 people, including children, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Lightning sparked the fire at the Chelsea 88 apartments on Herrington Road in Duluth, Channel 2 reported.

About seven apartments were damaged by smoke and water, the Gwinnett County Fire Department said. The Red Cross was called in to help those who were displaced.

A house fire on the 5900 block of Morgan Road near Doraville was also reported during Tuesday's afternoon thunderstorms.
