Four girls at Cross Keys High School in DeKalb County were suspended after getting tongue, lip and navel piercings while inside the girls’ locker room, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Reon Grinage, 14, told Channel 2 that she was one of the students who got her tongue pierced.

When asked why she did it, she told Channel 2, “I don’t know.”

The girl said back in early April, a friend came to school with a piercing kit.

“She was like, ‘Do you want to do it?’ I was like, ‘Sure.’ And she had the whole kit and everything,” the girl told Channel 2.

So the two girls and two others waited until after their physical education class. Instead of heading to lunch, the four girls doubled back into the locker room and had the piercing party, school officials told Channel 2.

“And she used the same needle on that one girl that she did on the other girl,” the 14-year-old told Channel 2.

Days later, the mother of one of the girls alerted school officials about the piercing sand the girls were all suspended for 10 days, according to Channel 2.

Grinage’s aunt, Lena Harrison, said school officials should have been paying attention.

“How did nobody hear nine girls in the bathroom getting pierced? Because I know it was quite an adventure,” Harrison said.

School officials told Channel 2 that the locker room was unsupervised, and that’s a policy they need to review.
