The former wife of Ross Harris will take the stand in her ex-husband's defense Monday morning as testimony resumes in the hot car murder trial.

Leanna Taylor, who divorced Harris earlier this year, will testify that while her ex may not have been the best husband, he was a loving and attentive father. Harris is charged with intentionally leaving his son inside a SUV for roughly seven hours, allegedly in pursuit of a life unencumbered by familial obligations. He insists it was a horrible mistake, and his former spouse has said she agrees.

The defense singled out Taylor's treatment by Cobb County police as evidence of a rush to judgment by investigators. Cobb County Police Det. Phil Stoddard, testifying at Harris' probable cause hearing in July 2014, implied that his then-wife may have been involved in Cooper's death. No charges were ever brought. In testimony last week, Stoddard said Taylor was not a suspect "at this time."
