A former DeKalb County Police officer was indicted on Thursday on child molestation charges.

Manuel Williams was charged by a DeKalb County grand jury on three counts of child molestation.

Williams was arrested in October, nearly a year after one of his daughter's friends claims he touched her inappropriately during a sleepover.

Prosecutors claim that the 18-year police veteran kissed the girl on her neck, fondled her chest and touched her genitals.

An arrest warrant obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said that Williams confessed, and police officials said he resigned.

Williams was taken into police custody and later released on a $10,000 bond.

His attorney, Gerald Griggs, said his client is innocent and questions the truthfulness of the girl who made the accusation.
