A man is wanted after police in DeKalb County said he shot at his mother and slipped away when a SWAT team arrived at the scene.

Andrew Economou, 23, is sought on an aggravated assault charge in the incident, which began as a domestic call Saturday, according to DeKalb police spokeswoman Officer Elise Wells.

Police said Economou fired at his mother as she was leaving their home in a vehicle. The woman was not hurt in the incident, Wells said.

Investigators believed that Economou had retreated into the home and barricaded himself inside, according to Wells. A SWAT team was called to the scene near Covent Way and Panola Road near Redan, she said.

After a while, the SWAT team determined Economou was no longer in the house. His whereabouts were still unknown Tuesday.

Anyone with information on where Economou might be is asked to call DeKalb police.
