Authorities said a deer sighting on an interstate in Hall County led to a road-rage arrest Sunday.

The incident began when a McDonough man driving a semitruck passed a car driven by 27-year-old Fernando Contreras on I-985 near the Ga. 13 exit, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. The driver then had to slow down to avoid hitting the deer.

When he did, Contreras passed the slowed semitruck and pointed a gun at the driver, the release said.

No one was injured.

Contreras was arrested without incident.

Contreras was charged with aggravated assault and aggressive driving and booked into the Hall County Jail. His bond had not been set as of noon Monday.
