A MARTA train hit and killed a 63-year-old man at the Midtown station Friday afternoon.
About 3:15 p.m., a southbound train “made contact with a trespasser” while approaching the Midtown station, MARTA spokeswoman Stephany Fisher told AJC.com. The man, identified as Daniel M. King of Atlanta, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Atlanta Fire Rescue crews worked to recover the body, which was trapped underneath the train.

MARTA shut down rail power between the Civic Center and Arts Center stations, setting up a bus bridge between the two. About 5:15 p.m., Fisher said the scene was clear.
It was the second deadly incident at a MARTA station within the past 10 days.
On May 12, another alleged trespasser was hit and killed on the train tracks at the Brookhaven station, AJC.com previously reported. That incident shut down rail travel at the station for nearly six hours.
