A woman was killed and five other people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on I-285 at Camp Creek Parkway on Tuesday, the Georgia State Patrol said.

The GSP described the incident as a chain-reaction crash involving five tractor-trailers and one car. A tractor-trailer was traveling northbound when it struck three other big rigs and the rear of a car, pushing the car underneath another tractor-trailer.

The GSP identified the driver of the car as Kimberly Diane Caldwell, 62, of Bowdon. She died on the scene.

Five others were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with injuries.

It took about six hours to clear the wreckage, which blocked two right lanes and the exit ramp.

In other news:

DeKalb County firefighters said they got to the scene around 8:45 a.m. Monday.
