The GBI is investigating the shooting death of woman’s whose body was found inside a car in a store parking lot.

The shooting happened about 5:00 p.m. in the Ingles parking lot on Atlanta Highway in Auburn, GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said. Auburn is about an hour away from Atlanta.

A 911 call came about a domestic dispute in the parking lot, Miles said. Officials later found a woman dead from a gunshot wound.

The suspect sped away in a Mercedes, Channel 2 Action News reported, but was arrested 45 minutes later.

No other details were released. The investigation is ongoing.
