Two teenagers were killed and one was injured in a shooting in the city of South Fulton on Tuesday morning, police said.

Police said the shooting occurred in the 2900 block of Two Lakes Circle just before 1 a.m.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office identified the slain teens as Tyree Johnson, 19, of College Park, and Grant Antonio Payton, 16, of Riverdale.

A 15-year-old boy survived the shooting and is stable. His name has not been released.

Donese Gordon, Payton’s mother, told Channel 2 Action News her son just started his first job at Chick-fil-A.

“He was so excited about getting that job,” Gordon told Channel 2. “He was so happy.”

She told the news station that Payton and his friend were arriving at the home after making a late-night trip to McDonald’s, and she believes the incident might have been a robbery. It’s unclear whether the friend was Johnson or the 15-year-old who was injured.

“I did not know that I wasn't going to see my son again,” Gordon said.

Channel 2 reported there were more than 20 evidence cones at the house directly across the street.

“This is an open investigation and no further information is available for release at this time,” Detective Partrena Smith said.
