A body was found Friday morning in a vehicle in the city of South Fulton, police said.

South Fulton police are investigating the death near the intersection of Old National Highway and Ga. 138, just over the Clayton County line.

Officers were called around 9:30 a.m. when someone walking near the intersection smelled something foul coming from a vehicle in an embankment, South Fulton police Cpl. M. Smith said.

“Police arrived on scene and discovered a deceased male inside of the vehicle,” Smith said. “The identity of the victim or any further information will not be released at this time.”

Police told Channel 2 Action News that a tow truck was called in to pull the vehicle from the embankment, which is in a wooded area.

The investigation is ongoing.
