Police are investigating the death of a man wrapped in a blanket and dumped Sunday morning near railroad tracks in northwest Atlanta.

A conductor for a southbound Norfolk Southern train told police he saw the body taken from a silver Toyota SUV and dropped into a grassy area next to the train tracks, according to Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones.

The Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit was on the scene near Perry Boulevard, Jones said.

The Fulton County medical examiner’s office said the man had not been identified.
