Two Atlanta police officers were hurt when a man attacked them while they were responding to a single-vehicle wreck Saturday night.

The crash happened about 7:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Hollywood Road, officials said. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man involved in the crash with blood coming from his head, officials said.

The crash victim allegedly ran toward the officers and “began to physically assault them,” authorities said. One officer used a stun gun on the man, and he was taken into custody.

The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, Atlanta police said. One officer’s face was scratched during the struggle and the other was burned by a car tail pipe. Both were treated at the scene.
