Marvin Arrington has won the Democratic nomination for the Fulton County Commission District 5 seat, defeating Brenda Muhammad in Tuesday’s runoff.

Muhammad, a former member of the Atlanta Public Schools board, and Arrington, the son of prominent judge and politician, emerged from a five-candidate field in May’s primary voting to make Tuesday’s runoff.

There is no Republican nominee for the District 5 seat.
